CDI is supporting a series of training programs and outreach activities across the region. The programs are assisting parliaments to fulfil their legislative functions; supporting political parties to contribute effectively to democratic governance, and supporting increased political representation of women in democratic institutions. CDI is drawing upon a body of evidence regarding how democratic strengthening occurs in its focus countries to inform its program development.
Together with our partners we’re contributing to the professional development of parliamentarians; capacity building of parliamentary secretariats; and community engagement by the PNG parliament.
Working with the Papua New Guinea Integrity of Political Parties and Candidates Commission (IPPCC) we are delivering a series of workshops designed to strengthen and professionalise PNG political parties.
We are working with the Institute of Peace and Democracy (IPD) to support its delivery of the Asia-Pacific Leadership Program 2 - a training program for young emerging political party leaders from the Asia-Pacific region.
